Burgers please! Skip the bun...

Indulge guilt-free with this low carb burger - all the flavor, less of the carbs!

Let me be clear... there is absolutely nothing wrong with eating a burger bun, but sometimes you might be craving something light, wanting something new, or even looking for ways to incorporate more vegetables.

If you are following ketosis or simply looking for a lower carb option, these sliders are worth trying! Besides how adorable they look, they are packed with flavor and I promise will leave you satisfied. Two of my favorite things about making these are that you can top them with literally anything and they make for a perfect appetizer or even snack. When the zucchinis are properly cooked, I promise they wont fall apart.


Zucchini Sliders



What you'll need:

  • 1 lb of lean ground beef

  • 1-2 large zucchinis

  • salt to taste

  • pepper to taste

  • Cheese of choice

  • Red onion (to top)

  • Tomato (to top)

Burger seasoning

  • 1 tsp onion powder

  • 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder

  • 1 tbs paprika

  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper

  • 1 cup milk (or nut milk)


Step-by-step

  1. Slice zucchini into 1/2 thick rounds. Wash and pat dry.

  2. Season zucchini with salt and pepper on either side.

  3. In a mixing bowl, add ground beef and all of the burger seasonings. Mix until combined.

  4. Take a small handful (about 1.5 inch) of the mixture and shape it into a burger patty (you should have about 8-10).

  5. Grease a skillet and cook zucchini rounds until slightly brown on both sides.

  6. Cook the burgers on both sides to your liking.

  7. Add cheese and cover to melt.

  8. Assemble sliders and enjoy!

OOOO! The more and more recipes that come out eliminating gluten persuades me to start cutting it out of my diet. Definitely saving this!
